| Spirit in business |
Beginning in October 1999, business leaders met with the Dalai Lama to
explore the question ‘Compassion or Competition?’ in a major forum in Amsterdam
created by two SiB founders, Sander Tideman and Marcello Palazzi. Since
then, a worldwide network of business leaders and professionals has been
inspired to create ‘Spirit in Business’. This lead to the successful production
of the largest international conference on Spirit in Business: Ethics,
Mindfulness and the Bottom Line in New York in April 2002. Attended by
500 business people, 125 internationally from more than 30 countries and
different faiths, with many from no specific religious background, Spirit
in Business was launched at an historic time in the world economy when
financial markets, business ethics and globalization are coming under deep
scrutiny. |
